About the Gantry type machining center
The Gantry type of machining center is one of the NC machining center. Many of those machines are large and the structure that supports the main shaft is shaped like a “gate”.
This shape is capable of supporting large and heavy workpieces, and is mainly used for machining large parts and precision machining, and allows for movement in the three directions of the X, Y, and Z axes, as well as rotation of the tool.
It is possible to process various shapes.
There are mainly three types: the fixed cross rail type in which the main shaft moves up and down and left and right and the table moves back and forth, the cross race type movement, the moving cross rail type in which the rail that supports the main spindle moves up and down, and the cross rail type.
In addition to the fixed movement type, there are three types: the gantry type, in which the gate itself that supports the main shaft moves back and forth.
